Anthony Barrett and the Rogers Heritage band are awesome!

Anthony Barrett is a member of the band at Rogers Heritage High School in Rogers, Arkansas.

He is also the grandson of Martie Barrett, his grandmother who is in Hospice care with terminal cancer. Martie was worried that she would never see her grandson play again as she obviously couldn’t attend a football game.

When the Band Director Doug Blevins understood the situation, he made the decision to put on a private band concert in the front yard of Martie Barrett Monday morning. The entire band was there to play for an audience of one.

Ms. Barrett described it as a “moment of a lifetime”, though she admitted she really only watched her grandson perform.

Good for you Rogers Heritage High School and director Doug Blevins. Heroes are made every day by just doing the right thing and caring about others!
