Ashlee Stokes of Northshore graduates with her class

Ashlee Stokes was a cheerleader for Northshore High School in Slidell, Louisiana.
In a triumphant moment Saturday, she donned her cap and gown and graduated with her class from Northshore High School.
What makes this story remarkable, is that Stokes should have been just one more DWI casualty. Back in May of 2008 a drunk driver slammed into the car Ashlee was driving and nearly killed her. She sustained massive head injuries and was in a coma for months.
After coming out of her coma, Stokes had to relearn everything about life, from eating, to talking or walking.
All the while, Stokes wanted to graduate with her class. She did just that Saturday after a monumental amount of hard work by her and her parents, and certainly her friends as well. Stokes spent three years working towards this goal and she sent a message that all of her fellow graduates can remember forever.
Ashlee Stokes is one remarkable person.
