Deonte “D.J.” Weathers dies after brilliant game
By moderator on Aug 28, 2010 with Comments 9
Deonte “D.J.” Weathers was a standout running back and defensive back for Berkeley High School in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
Weathers died Saturday when he lost control of his car, left the road and struck a utility pole. Police have said Deonte was not wearing a seat belt, and as a result he died of massive head and chest trauma.
Just the night before, Weathers had scored two touchdowns for the Berkeley Stags in a rout over Stratford High School. Players and coaches spoke of his endearing spirit and exuberance after the game.
DJ Weathers was just 16 years old.

Omesha- Even though I haven’t spent that much time knowing Dj. It was still a hard lost. i cried a lot only because it touched me. He was so young and he will not be able to see the world like we do anymore. He was a member of my family and he will be missed very much!
Chyna- Family he was! To know that he’s gone it does hurt. The last time I saw him was on Friday morning and I can distinctly remember his conversation with Bria S. & those on the bus that morning. It’s just not the same! When I first heard I was like “you lying”, but sadly as it is it’s true. I’m not gonna sugar coat anything, we weren’t super close but we are family, lived in the same neighborhood, rode the same bus and knew of him since grade school. Deonte D.J. Weathers ur triumphs will be remembered ur one true STAG. R.I.P. <3 Chyna F.E. Linning
