Dedrik Lovato-Rodriguez was a sophomore on the varsity football team at Lighthouse Christian School in Twin Falls, Idaho.
He died Wednesday night as a result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. While driving on Highway 24 between Heyburn and Rupert, Lovato-Rodriguez lost control of his vehicle and crossed the median, striking an oncoming pickup truck. The driver of the truck was 69 year old Danny Gonzales, who also died as a result of the crash.
Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time, and authorities will be performng toxicology tests on both e men as part of their ongoing investigation.
Dedrik Lovato-Rodriguez was 15 years old.
I knew Dedrik…. He was an amazing kid, and everyday I’ll miss him. It’s been a little over a year and I ran into this article. It means alot to know that people ecknowledged his life and his legacy:) Thank you. I’ll miss you forever Dedrik.
