Eric Arce and Kyle Simmons are both baseball players at Lakeland High School in Florida.
They were both arrested around 11:oo pm Friday night when a sherrifs’ deputy caught them making out in a truck with underage girls. One of the girls was only 14 years and the other was just 15 years old. Both of the girls told the deputy that the “proceedings” were consensual, but that doesn’t matter according to Florida laws. Underage is underage even if the ages are close together, and it is certainly a crime if one of the parties is 18, and therefore considered an adult.
Arce and Simmons were both charged with lewd battery. You can draw your own conclusions, but Arce was additionally charged with lewd molestation.
Now the reason this story is important is not because of Kyle Simmons, he is sporting a 21.0 era as a pitcher and rarely plays.
Eric Arce on the other hand is an outstanding baseball catcher who puts up great numbers. He verbally committed to Florida State in the fall, and he is projected to be as high as a second round draft pick in the next Major League draft.
This arrest will likely cost him serious money with the MLB, and if he passes on going pro, he may no longer have a scholarship waiting at Florida State.

The police must have forgot to report that there was close to 30 people on the look out. Also there was 5 people in the truck, the 5th being one of the boys sisters. And that the girls were’nt even naked.. I wonder why the parents didnt press charges “bc it was all bullshit”.

Is this article insinuating (talking about making out and then puts “proceedings” in quotes) that the 14 or 15 year old (whichever one was with Arce) was french kissing him…except not on his lips?

ya’ll need to calm doen cause Eric is the coolest kid i’ve ever met, and Kyle was the nicest guy ever and there mind wasnt set on having sex! and the girl had marijuanna why would a 14 year old girl know how to get marijuana?! huh so its not there fault so back off and leave them alone!

Fuck all of you jealous hearted kids and whoever is posting all of that. Her parents are the idiots and they gave the permission to date. Get the fuck out of here. Arce is a great kid and works his ass off. He hasn’t hurt anyone and I’m glad the charges were dropped so he can play the game again so all of you hateful bastards can look forward to hearing his name in the future. BELIEVE THAT!

I am HAPPY to see that THE CHARGES were DROPPED against Eric. This is a GREAT kid with a BIG HEART that has never been in any kind of trouble at all. I am glad to see that he can get back to living his life the way that GOD intended him to live it. GOOD LUCK ERIC ARCE and I hope that you have sucess with everything you do from now on.

If the parents of the girls are gonna prosecute and label those boys for the rest of their life, when they had gave permission for them to date in the first place, the girls parents need to be charged too. What in the world did they think was going to eventually happen between teenagers, and why was a 14 and 15 year old out that late unsupervised anyway. Hello Parents we have to take some responsibility here too.

I had the pleasure of meeting this young man several years ago and I believe in my heart that this is an injustice and a big misunderstanding. Arce has always been a genuine young man with a strong belief in family and family values. My thoughts and prayer go out to him and his family.
