our school coaches play favorites like its their job. the varsity coaches wont place the truly talented athletes on the varsity teams unless you know them (for a long time, that is – like family friends) or pretty much kiss their asses. they wouldnt know talent if it sat on their lap and called them mommy. for example: the varsity softball team. great team, yes, but lots of girls that shouldnt be there. this isnt a jealous thing, mind you – its about “playing fair”. both on and off the field. on the sb v team, there are 3 catchers and 4 pitchers….whats the deal? the benched girls say that theyd rather be on the jv team if it meant that they got to play. while on the other hand, the actually talented girls that arent part of the “good ol’ boy” circle know that they can do what it takes to make it and exceed on the desired team. its not right and it sucks.
